This thread is relevant to my interests. I don't get paid this way yet. I just set my blog up after seeing so many opportunities available for those who are already established. I have a couple of my published articles up, though, I haven't been able to blog regularly with the topics of my choosing because I've been busy (writing different material for different clients). A big part of why I went into writing is the ability to earn residual income.

I had 100 articles on eHow.com making me $200 a month before the screwed all the writers over.
I started my own blog, but it hasn't really made much money. But at least I can't get fukked over in the future
