Ive had a mobo cmos chip die on my cuz of overclocking before (:scusthov:) but that thing was still under warranty so they just sent me a new mobo...:manny:

but the thing wouldnt even POST....in your case I think it might still be fixable because it isnt completely bricked

Power-on self-test - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

open your box, look at your mobo, and see what code it posts. find a manua see what it corresponds to. then search for it on google with the specific motherboard in question :manny: could find an easy solution (but most likely not, but worth a try)

Have you done this yet, step for step?

I Changed My BIOS & Now My Monitor Will Not Work | eHow.com

Instructions

1. Turn off your computer and remove the case cover. Move your computer case to a location where you can easily access the inside (such as a table). Keep all the cables, including power, plugged into it. You have two options for resetting your BIOS.

2. Look for a "Clear CMOS" or "Reset" button or switch on your motherboard. If your motherboard has such a button or switch, press the button or move the switch and then start your computer. The BIOS will now be reset and your monitor should work again. If it was a switch, shut your computer down and move the switch back to the normal position.

3. Look for the CMOS battery if you can't find the CMOS button or switch. This will be a circular battery, like what's often used to power wrist watches. If your motherboard has one, disconnect the battery for several minutes and then reconnect it. Start up your computer; the BIOS will now be reset and your monitor should work again.

youre not getting what I said. your physical mobo inside your box should display the code as long as its working.

your monitor has nothing to do with it, the cpu+ram+mobo combo connected to power is enough to run a post test.

see figure 6 (this site hates hotlinking apparently)
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/printpage/Intel-DZ77GA-70K-Motherboard/1524

see that display ? it will display some kind of hex number that you then look up.

Try plugging your monitor to your onboard gpu (if you have one, and remove your graphic card first) or try to reseat the cpu.
