But he wasn’t on shyt. Everybody in the hood ain’t running the streets. Most in the hood arent. Will was just like most people in the hood, just regular folks trying to get by. The nikkas who were in streets were the ones who ran Will outta Philly.
Hell even the nikka who ran Will out reformed and apologized
Its a difference from a “Hood nikka” and “A nikka from the Hood” this is known.
Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Will was based somewhat off of the real Will Smith’s Philly background and persona.
The “real” Will Smith grew up in a two parent household and got straight A’s in school. He always said even though he grew up around Hood dudes he knew himself he couldn’t get away with that shyt so he became a jokester and class clown to get people to like him and keep the wolves off his neck.
The “Fresh Prince” Will Smith didn’t have his father but still had a mother who kept him on the straight and narrow. And through most episodes what did he do? Utilized Jokes and charm to get himself out of sticky situations. He didn’t need to be “street” to be street smart enough to know when he was in over his head (The Compton episode)
