Yes of course. At this point its almost like a life ritual for me. I'm a PC gamer too so I'm not taking a side here.

Thing is though, it probably won't be immediate. I didn't get a PS2 until 1.5-2 years after it came out and the same with PS3. Mainly because launch titles are awful and price is too high. It wasn't until FFX on PS2 and GTA 4 on PS3 that I decided to buy both systems. Once that game comes out that I feel like "Man I need this game" and the price is right, I'll cop.

I'll do it eventually down the line when them prices dip. I have more responsibilities and way less time than I did when i was running around from store to store the day the 360 dropped. Plus I don't think the jump in technology will be as big as it was from Xbox-360/PS2-PS3

@TheMaster

Games I currently own and haven't started or finished:
Devil May Cry Collection (3 games)
Metal Gear Solid Collection (2 games)
Orange Box (2 games)
Mass Effect 3 dlc
Red Dead Redemption + dlc
Skyrim
Fight Night Champion
Just Cause 2
Assassins Creed Revelations

Games I want:
Metal Gear Rising
DmC
Gears of War Judgement
Injustice Gods Among Us
GTA5
Walking Dead
Assassins Creed 3
:whew:

Plus I got a life outside of games. To buy a new system and new games this year and buy new peripherals does not make a lot of sense to me. BC is a must or it can wait.

You putting way too much stock in GTA. Everyone stopped playing GTA4 2 weeks after it came out.

Not according to the Live numbers.

Plus i see you failed to see the overall point. Everyone isnt going to stop playing CoD, Halo, GTA5, etc....just because a new system is out. If im heavy into any of those games then i wouldnt want to be playing a new system and i couldnt see if any of my friends are in a game on the old system. If that happens then people will wait on buying the new system until they are absolutely done playing everything on the old one. A lot of people have big backlogs due to how many good games are becoming dirt cheap. If we can play those old games and the new ones on the new system then that benefits both parties.

Im sure MS saw how popular Halo 2 was when the 360 launched and how many people played that game on the 360.

What is it with backwards compatibility for people, what a waste.

How many of these games have you not finished by the time the new generation comes out that this is such a determining factor.

Name me a few games that are so spectacular and Hype worthy that you absolutely must play on the next system that you can't finish now?

The Master says that this something that you want but must certainly do not need.

Backwards compatibility is important to me... I have a lot of shyt to do as a 25 year old so I am behind on video games... I plan on buying a ps3 and playing all of the worthwhile games... If they had backwards compatibility on the ps4 I would have just waited until it dropped...

I always hear this right before a new gen. Then those exclusives start dropping and people do a complete 180. :stopitslime:
Half of what you read is probably rumors and speculation. E3 isn't even here yet and these fools are already writing off next gen consoles. :heh:

What live numbers are you talking about, PC
Cuz GTA on XBL hasn't charted in a minute (major nelson) EDIT: So ppl been playing it lately in anticipation of GTA5 :leon:
EDIT#2: shyt, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe nobody will move to next gen til they done with GTA5? Doubt it but :manny:
But once again, your putting WAAAY too much stock in GTA, and now to boost your argument your trying to group it in with Halo and games of that level :stopitslime:
Video game companies don't give a fukk that you have a backlog, you already bought that shyt aka :win:
Now they got new shyt to sell. GTA5 is not gonna move systems. Too late for that
And when these new systems drop, I'm not gonna give 1/2 a fukk about a GTA
You mean to tell me nikkaz is gonna be like "Yo, I can't play Watch Dogs cuz GTA5 is so great!!!" :comeon:

I'm not copping any more consoles or handhelds until their successors come out. That way I get the best version of the hardware at the lowest price, and cheap games. I'm a PC gamer so I can stay current with the best versions of games anyway.

I'll probably buy eventually, but that depends on whether the football games are any good.

It will be missing some features maybe, but all those extra features don't matter to me
Like, I don't be playing online leagues like that (would like to)

The graphical leap, especially this next gen? It should do wonders for sports games. FPS's maybe not as much.
But you'll notice all the little things in Madden, from the sidelines being lifelike for once. The crowd will be more realistic as well
Individual player scrummages/etc. Its goin down :mj:

This is primitive on your part not any system.

Some of those games on your list are 3 to 4 years old...

You are telling me that you haven't found any time in a four year span to knock some of these games out?

Yes we all have lives and things to take care of, but just because you aren't finishing games in a more than enough timely matter you want backwards compatibility??

And what then good sir, when the new fire comes out, I suppose you will amass a stack of un-played games into the stratosphere.

No, you don't need backwards compatibility, you need self control.
