yo brehs, how much was blockbuster throughout the years, i remember the prices being way too high near the end of their dying years

how much was games and movie in their heyday?

I grew up in the Midwest was never higher than 5. Then they'd do specials 2 for 5 or 3 for 5. Then early 2000's late 90's they went to 5 day rentals same price. When ps3 and 360 dropped they upped to like 7-8 dollars within the last
couple years they tried to go back to 2 day rentals then died.

Can't believe with all the people that worked in their corporate headquarters, that nobody pressed the idea of buying Netflix and RedBox
before things got out of hand They could have been so far ahead of the curve if they accepted that brick-n-mortal was completely out of date.

The dude that created red box went to blockbuster first. They laughed at him like

and told him to get the fukk out. Later tried to be buy him out and he told them no. They came out with "blue box" but the nails were in the coffin, they got bought out by dish then died

My old blockbuster is a damn beauty store. No beauty store needs to be that damn big. I miss that shyt tho. Wandering through aisles, looking at boxes and having no idea what movies were about but just picking them because of the cover or the synopsis on the back. Or those video game tournaments they used to have which were dope...Friday or Saturday night sleepovers, blockbuster was a key ingredient.

mine is a 5 guys.....I eat my burger where I used to pick out a Van Dam movie on a friday night....


I miss the excitment I felt when I would go to a blockbuster, cause they only had em around my grandparents place, it was so much bigger than the local video store.....me beggin Gram for a few bucks to catch a movie I never shoulda been watching at that age.....god damn, I miss those days.....

Naw... it was superior that Netflix.... and I'm a NF guy.

Yes, I miss video stores..... thats why I cant really get into the whole REDBOX deal.

Like wtf am I gonna spend money on a box thing that prolly has like 30 movies in comparison of an old video store that has practically every movie ever made? Maybe I dont wanna see the newest shyt that came out cuz I saw it when it was in the movies, maybe I wanna see some shyt I've never seen before?

I actually do kinda miss this place. Low key when they started changing their policies was one of the most things ever.

Early in Blockbuster's life:

BB: Two movies that'll be $8.37 plus I see this late charge for Above the Rim which will be an extra $4.15, did you want to take care of that today?
Me: But I brought that back on-time I thought?
BB: If it's in after 8:00 it's considered late. We can take care of it now or you'll need to clear it next time before you can rent again.
Me: Fine.

Late in Blockbuster's life:

BB: Ok so you've got two movies and a Blu-Ray that'll be $9.15. I also see there's two late charges for Galaxy Quest and Iron Man, but don't worry about that we'll go ahead and clear those charges for you, sir.

Man those were the days. I came up on so much puff just by browsing, checking out the art cover and movie description. So many memories of me and my pops going to BB and looking for movies then bringing them back to the rest of the family like a successful hunt.
