I NEVER thought I would spend money on something like this. As said above though, I was losing ALL motivation on my own. I've been doing Orange Theory (interval training) for 3 weeks now and I LOVE it. I also never thought I would do workouts in the morning, but I've been doing it 3-4 mornings a week (next week 5 :sadcam:) I signed up for 2 months so far, and I'm trying to get my $ worth!

It's been helping that I have to sign up ahead of time, and get charged if I cancel last minute.

the internet
if you dont have the drive to find out what will work for you (learning about routines etc...), then by all means join some type of group/class.
Just make sure you learn how to do things yourself...you dont want to be a slave to a trainer keeping you in shape.

I don't ... but a lot of my friends/acquaintances swear by cross fit and programs like that.

My reasons for not joining aren't financial -- I just don't like working out in a group. I don't want to high-five people between sets or do the same workout as a bunch of other people. I'd rather just put my head down and do what I showed up to do, then go home. Just a preference.

And, again, people I know love it. So there must be something worthwhile there (or it's a cult).

But, I'm not afraid to bite elements from cross fit workouts. My cardio is mostly kettle bell swings (heavy) and double unders with the jump rope. Just got back from doing that at the end of leg day. I'm smoked.
