I live 7 miles from my job in downtown Chicago. Thinking it would be a good way to get some cardio in. Anyone here do it?
Anyone commute to work by bicycle?

- Worked at dell when i was 19 - i use to complain about 25min bike ride to and from work. Til i spoke to this guy who i worked with (also had a bike) biked 13mi from his house, back and forth (totalling 26mi)
just to get to the bus stop so he could get to work
dude lived in a rural area that's like a 45min car drive outside my city.

I use to do it
I can get there in about 35 minutes. It's about 25 taking the bus, so I figure why not. Only downside i see is the weather has been nasty as fukk these last 2 weeks.

Most places in the south aren't designed for commuting by bike. Plus I'm lazy and can't be doing that shyt everyday. Imma take a bike to lunch? What if I impulse buy something during work?

I've known a few people in the hood to only ride around on bikes. Granted that's probably all they could've afforded, but in most hoods even the worst hoods, it's about time of day, who you hanging with, and what you're doing...
I live in a mixed neighborhood in the Chi...so...
But even when I was in the hood HOOD, in "Philly", if you kept to yourself you rarely get fukked with.

Yeah the South and parts of the West aren't really made for bike commutes. Chicago is built like a northeast city in the Midwest.

been commuting via bike for like 15 years (in chicago).
I love it...had no idea I would get into cycling...its become a serious hobby for me.

Yeah, I'm hoping I can do it March to October. I literally live next to lakeshore and work in west loop, it's 30-35 minutes for me and I don't have to ride most of it in the street.

I commute to work on bike Monday to Friday. Helps me put extra money into my stocks that would otherwise go to pay for car maintenance. Plus I live in Toronto and it's a pretty bike friendly city.
It also serves as my cardio for the week. That way, when i go to the gym I can focus purely on weight lifting.
