Anyone catch Bob Ryan's Racist Comment on ATH?

Which one is more likely he still doesn't like gay people and was "forced" to issue the standard PC apology or he completely flipped his opinion over a couple days and came up with that apology on his own? Especially considering he had a sit down meeting with the team owner and HC. Even if he did write it where is the blatant cism?

I'm having a hard time buying someone that refers to homosexuality as "that sweet stuff" using expressions like "reflection of thought" and starting sentences off with "Further",a dude that talks at an 8th grade level isn't about to turn into a college professor just because he has to pop shyt apologize. And that was Bob Ryan's point and why he dismissed the wording of the apology but not the content indicating Culliver's sincerity. Just saying he doesn't talk like that he wasn't saying he can't or isn't capable of talking like that.

i dont think culliver wrote that statement either but are we really comparing dialogue on a comedy show to that of a public p.r. statement?

That's a good point and no, my job tone is completely different from my casual tone. In fact Tim Cowlishaw was the only one to bring that fact up that Artie Lange (the comedian asking the questions) started the interview by asking how many white women did Culliver plan to sleep with.
That set the tone for the interview being laid back and Culliver was just answering outrageous questions with outrageous answers, Lange should shoulder some blame.

To be fair, yeah it's not right to judge Culliver's comments in a relaxed setting with the way you would speak in a professional/ formal setting, he does deserve a break in that regard. I do think he could be more eloquent if the situation called for it, but to the level of that statement? Ehhhhhh.

But we look at these things in a bubble, he is being judge on what he said vs what he issued. It is what it is.

yea its like, did any of you assume that plies was a valedictorian when you watched one of his videos? and im not even gonna hold you, i used to think that tity boi was in the L.D. class growing up.

he didnt write that statement tho. i seriously doubt dude sat down and wrote that statement out in the midst of everything going on out there. and im not saying that hes incapable of stringing those words together, but yea, it definitely felt like an overly-professional statement that only a publicist would write. especially considering his response when the media interviewed him later on. he pulled a 2011 jalen rose.

Bob Ryan isn't really a racist, as much as I would consider him a cynic. But he was right Culliver didn't write that apology, only because it's clearly not how he feels but on the other hand, I just take it as someone who is young and hasn't really expanded his world-view, not saying he has to accept gays if that's how he feels but that he has to know when to keep his mouth shut and to understand that when he speaks he is representing the team and not himself. But the kid is only 22-23, and he'll learn as time passes.
