Anyone a Social Worker, Paramedic or Firefighter?

My counselor told me marines, police officers, etc...get first dibs. I'm happy where I'm at though

Im currently a paramedic and by summer will be a firefighter, I currently make $48,000 as a paramedic and ive been doing it for approx. 4 years. The OT is there if I want it, I work 10 hr shifts so I have 3 days off, currently wed-Friday

I love my job and the people I work with

I contemplated so many different careers/majors and firefighters was one of them

Even becoming a mailman

Heard it's really hard to find a job in that field though unless you're down to relocate to the middle of nowhere. You have thousands of applicants applying to one opening

One of my buddies got a job in the somewhere in the middle of northern California(literally, past Sacramento). He said it's straight, and he loves his job. Breh was really passionate about being a firefighter. Heck brother is a firefighter too, who became certified at 18, or some sh*t...

Social Workers- Are generally overworked and underpayed. Counseling or teaching is the way to go if you really wanna make a difference like that.

Firefighters- Can be gravy. Can leave you with permanent injuries or dead. From all I have heard the pay is straight though.

Don't know any paramedics.

I just want to add that firefighters make bank w that overtime and you know Cali gon have that annual fire
