I really like how whenever there are scenes with the mom and her son who was raped visiting hospital workers, bureaucrats, authority figures that the viewer never really sees their faces. Its like they are trying to convey how faceless and seemingly unfeeling those people are when dealing with a desperate woman and her traumatized son.

One great thing this show does in a subtle way is point out white privilege that even some of the supposed victims partake in.

Kid walks into the store past a clerk and a customer, unbothered, pockets a spray can and walks out like nothing even happened. Then you have the kid who steals a gun and goes about his day unbothered by authority figures until the shyt hit the fan.
