Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
If you're not willing to go the eBay/Craigslist route, the best place to get a good deal on a Mac is Apple's refurb store. I wouldn't be scared off by a refurb from Apple, since it's basically the same as buying new (same exact warranty as a new machine). The cheapest 13" MacBook Pro up there is $929 before taxes.

Which model did you get? It definitely does sound like you got beat in the head @ that price.

I rushed into it.

needed it before the weekend so i could upload my music and dj a wedding that weekend (my previous laptop, Dell Inspron from 2007 - died a week before).

The one i got was the 2009 unibody.

But fukk... it's all good.

The jawn came with a carrying case and Safari internet.

I sold my Alienware i7 for $700

Dude was complaining that nothings works. Everything did expect the dvd-drive
It overheated and had terrible battery life but that was normal. Shoulda done research on it.

Apple refurb is the way to go. U will get a piff warranty plus a new battery. And the laptop will look brand new. I bought my wife's iPad off there and it was just like new.

Hmmm, I guess it could've been worse. You could've bought it off of Talkofnewyork's friend :lolbron:

Yup. The refurb store's definitely the first place to look if you want a deal on Apple gear. Especially after a product line's been refreshed, because the prices drop even further.
