I'm coming up to a year now damn . It's going pretty smooth. I've been doing the same things I said I was doing and it amounts to a lot. So much I know today that I didn't know at the time this thread was created.

You should use remembering the Kanji by James Heisig. There are decks you can use online that come with premade stories(mnemonics) to help remember them. I can write a bunch of kanji from memory along with Katakana/Hiragana. I feel comfortable writing Kanji though I gotta take my time. I've learned 2042 Kanji but I probably remember at least 60% of them if I had to guess. I still do my Kanji Reps and sentence reps daily. I can read certain things easily so long as I know the words.
