Many games have amazing scenary but a lot of the animations and mechanics are a little janky when they go beyond making a platfomer. People are still figuring that out.

you're right. I don't want to make some cliche clone of zelda nor do I want it to be a boring point and click adventure (I personally enjoy those). Have to find the sweet spot where it feels alive and not too easy nor repetitive.
