Yeah, it's more of a Goodreads and a social network. While logging and rating movies is an essential part of it, the main draw is the community and socialization. Sharing, saving and making lists. Using this as a barometer for your friends' taste. Remembering what movies you watched and how you felt about them. Discovering new or old movies and seeing how your your friends or people with similar tastes are ranking them.

I use trakt for staying afloat of streaming TV shows for stremio and to build that watchlist. I don't use it for anything else besides that
