Got a set of Powerblock dumbbells and their Sport Bench. You can also add a chin up and dip adjustments to it. Also a set of resistance cables. For cardio, I do that at the gym
The equipment you buy comes with a warranty so if something happens you just reach out to the company. A piece came off one of my jhooks. I took a picture, sent it to the company and they sent me a new pair.People don’t even mention the lifespan of home gym equipment. If something needs to be repaired who do you call?
Home gyms are when you have a family, less time to workout, the space and money for it.
Why get all your gains at home when the gym baddies are at the gym?
Plus my gym is literally 5 mins, even less depending on the traffic lights from my house. $180 a year that ain’t shyt.
During quarantine I had less motivation to workout. Much easier for me to drive to the gym as I’m already there. Too many distractions at home.I bought a squat rack with a pull up bar, a barbell, some wieght, 2 kettlebell, 1 slam ball in a 6 month periode during lockdown.
It cost me basically half a year of crossfit gym. I cancelled all my gym membership and am very happy.
Next step is to get more plates.
It change your life to have to go the the garage or pull up your kettlebell within your home to train.
#Howi make my own gym equipment, i first went that route cause i was on a super tight budget and found out i enjoy it. it just hits different working out in something you made and take pride in.
there's plans for all kinds of equipment out there, i put together a power rack with chinning bar, a weight tree, a calf raise block, and a bunch of other random stuff for less than $125. if my housemates didn't have an incline bench already i would have built one of those too. since then i've made kettlebells, plyo boxes, a deadlifting platform, all sorts of shyt... next time i'm living in a house i wanna try my hand at a rowing machine. oh yeah and moving's also real easy, just take your weights with you and turn everything else into firewood lol.
the handle is two 4"-ish pipe nipples + two end caps + a t-fitting, with another 10-12" nipple as the body#How

Get a cheap power rack off Craigslist, FB marketplace and just haul it over to your garage.I'll be moving into my house in the next two weeks and I got a two car garage and want to make my own home gym. What are the essentials I should strive to get and what is the best way to be cost efficient? I know I want to get a cheap tv mounted to watch workout programs and a punching bag.
