On another topic no to jimmy ward. They don’t know what to do with is injury prone and is an average player for the most part. I would rather watch the niners develop a younger player and let him get some burn then watch ward come back and get burned
Agree, I don't wanna see Jimmy Ward take up a roster spot, we already know he's at best average and at worst, can get roasted in man coverage. Partially that's our fault for trying to convert him to nickel corner ... but his upside is low and we know there's a 90% chance he'll get injured anyways.
Bring in anyone off the street who's hungry and might actually have upside.
@Bryan Danielson - By declining that offer, your basically saying Nick Bosa is more valuable than a #1 WR + a defensive starter.
I do agree OBJ's injury risk is there, but you have to factor in the Bosa's aren't necessarily a picture of family health. Nick already tore his ACL in High School and he sat out that groin injury. Joey missed part of his rookie year due to injury and missed half of this year with a foot injury.
Thinking about it, the Chargers D was actually perfectly fine without Bosa and might have actually put up better numbers this year even with him out most of the year. It kinda shows locking down the back-end is more important than edge rush in the modern game. That D is predicated on Hayward, King, and Derwin locking up up other teams #1, slot, and TE respectively.
Now if you think Quinnen is Aaron Donald's motor in Ndamukong Suh's frame ... decision might be tougher.
Either way, the value for the #2 pick is insanely high right now with AZ/OAK risking it all for Kyler/Haskins. With as many holes as there are on our roster, I'd rather finesse a team for multiple picks and a starter vs. praying Bosa/Quinnen/J.Allen can get to QBs at the pro level on their own in a base defensive scheme without any coverage LBs and huge questions at CB2/FS/SS, etc.
