My ceiling literally caved in the other night due to leakage from the toilet above my apartment and have a pest/rodent issue that appears to be occurring for multiple residents in my building. Trying to see if I have any recourse for leaving without paying penalty fee.

Typical you can break your lease for those reasons. shyt you can even say covid effect your job. That worked for me easily no questions asked and they gave me my deposit in full.

umm that I wouldn’t be able to tell, I know your contract has the terms for breaking the lease without penalty. shyt there’s always someone higher than the property manager that you should be able to reach out to.

Eh, besides the office keeping packages for hostage (I'm convinced they got my wife's car seat cushion) and the floor sounding like we are walking on a wrestling ring, no complaints. Now my old pad was a certified shythole:

• Papercut thin walls
• Roaches co leashing the apartment
• Neighbors being dikkheads
• Dog shyt everywhere
• Ugly ass paint looking like a fancy Pork and Bean project

Shootings multiple times a day
A strong order of PCP that can be smelt blocks away
Cockroaches, pillbugs, rats, bedbugs
No running water

Seriously, take pictures, make digital copies of your lease, contact your local housing dept and make them aware of the situation and see what measures you can take. Building owner can be cited for code violations.
You don't have to put up with this.

Our parents had to put up with bullshyt from landlords, but if you were raised here, speak English and know your rights you don't have to.

Maintenance crew coming into peoples houses stealing food outta peoples fridges
Random ass "inspections"
Bad ass kids fukking everything up
Bum ass "security" trying to get your car towed even if you live in the damn place
Constant rent increases

The last straws for getting my fam outta there was when the drunk ass maintenance dude told my grandmother to her face "I ain't fixing shyt" when she wanted her broke stove replaced. My uncle beat the brakes off of dude for that disrespect. That and finding a dude sprawled out dead on our porch one morning.

That place was so trash I didn't even give a 30 day notice when I bought my house. We just dipped out.
