The down town area use to trash but the past 10 years it did a 360, new condos going up every month and those are starting at 1600 for a studio

The hockey team is good and the owner bought up half of downtown and is building all types of stuff, he even hooked up with bill gates and they invested a billions on downtown/channel side

Then you got gentrification and their is no more hoods by downtown(this made prices go up)

A top airport, city walk, ybor, The best beach in america( clearwater) is like 20min away( still tampabay)

Expect to pay 1300+ for a 1 bed room in a ok area that isn't the hood

The places to move is the county(suburbs)

Visit Tampa every 2 years during the holidays cuz I got fam there.

It's cool I guess. Never really turned up there cuz I will solo when I'm there. Weather is nice especially since I'm coming Baltimore. Lot of strip clubs in random spots (never been inside any down there).


Ybor seems to be the turn up spot, tramped through there twice. People say it's crazy there but it seemed like regular city strip shenanigans to me.


I'm use to east coast cities so Tampa is almost too clean to me. They have a downtown area but no sea of rowhomes like I usually expect. Once you leave downtown you're right in the suburbs (at least what I would consider the suburbs)

You should give living there a shot.

Lived there, now living in St. Pete (basically still Tampa Bay)

Lot of strip clubs....Ybor is basically the strip. It can get wild at times (especially like Gasparilla), but I haven't been there in a minute.

The hood is by USF (called "Suitcase City" because no one ever stays long enough to unpacl their shyt).

Clearwater Beach is pretty close....

St. Pete is not as big, but it's still got some nice areas and things to do (Gulf beaches, DTSP, etc)...

Lots of variety in women, I'd personally say Tampa has more latinas then St.Pete....

A lot of people are moving out the city to the suburbs where the homes are new and worth it but even those homes start in the 200's and you have to worry about bobcats,coyotes, wild pigs because they're building right on their homes

Then you have areas like new tampa thats expensive af

Lutz is expensive and they have a new shopping outlet out there

Southtampa/bayshore/davis island is area where all the richest people in the city live. Derek jeter has a house there

Town and country is the chico area and everything is old looking and them chicos aint selling their homes for nothing
