You left nothing out my Belizean brethren. Proud to be from this beautiful country. :salute: :salute: Born there, raised here, lol. :blessed:Sad fact: my dad is the only known casualty in Belize as a result of hurricane Richard. Matter fact, it is coming up on the fourteen year anniversary of his death. RIP dad! Long story short, he went out to the Caye (keys) to fish, and the boat capsized. I’m going next year, I’ll be in the keys though. If anyone gets a chance to go, beautiful country. As a matter of fact, Central America is very underrated, especially the parts where there are Black people. I think it’s great to be able to see Spanish-speaking countries, but it’s also mind blowing to see Black people in those spaces, and that they are very much apart of the culture of those countries.:troll: Meaning, we’re still black, but the culture of the country permeates within us just the same. I believe they call that… Ethnicity.
Black people in Central America hug the Caribbean coast. From Panama all the way up to Belize. Even Mexico has black people or black mix in Veracruz area.

Garifuna are deep in Guatemala and Honduras. Both my side of my grandparents spoke fluent Spanish. My paternal grandmother is from Honduras. Her people speak lone Spanish and Garifuna.
:pachaha:
We have a town in Honduras called Livingston. That a straight black town.
:myman:
I want to say Roatan Island is black too. I think we crashed on that island and just stayed there. I have to make it out there before I die.

Was just there a couple weeks ago. Stayed at the Alaia in San Pedro. Great food everywhere we went. Everybody in that area of town gets around on golf carts. They are everywhere. Very few cars. Went snorkeling for the first time. Some beautiful women there.

Yeah, in December of 09.

I kept asking the locals "Where Shyne at?"
Shyne is big in Belizean politics now. His pops was PM for a long time. He is the future. I hope he is clean and have a great vision for our country.
:blessed:
Doubt it though. Them boys be loading they pockets up and leave the country scraps.

What made you choose Belize if you don’t mind me asking?

Belize is a beautiful country. My parents are from there and moved out the LA in the 80’s. Both my older sister were born in Belize. My brother and I were born in the States. We used to drive from Cali and Texas to Belize at least once a year my whole childhood. I got stories for days.
:merchant:
I started going and as an adult from 2013-16 at least twice a year. Met my Wife and stopped going. She’s been twice without me.
:beli:
When people say Belize, most are talking about Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye, which is where all the beautiful pictures mostly come from. Belize probably has the best diving this side of the world due to the second largest reef in the world.
:leon:
The women are cool and varied. I’m from the South aka Toledo district. There the people are the most varied. We have crole which is black/Spanish/english mix, Garifuna, Spanish, Cooli, and Mayan.

The capital is Belmopan which is more inland due to hurricanes. Mostly Spanish and Creole live there. Dangriga/Hopkins/Placencia is mostly Garifuna. The largest city is Belize city and has a mix of everybody. I don’t fool around in the city at all and don’t know much about it.

The country is small and peaceful outside of the city. All our towns have less than 50k people. There really isn’t much to do nor see unless you are into ecotourism.

Cost of living is relatively high. Our fuel prices have been $7 a gallon since I was a child. That adds to the transportation cost of all the food throughout the country. To build a house is still $125-200 SF if you are doing concrete. Our concrete comes from Mexico and Guatemala.

If you have any questions please let me know. If you’ve never been and are thinking of it, hit up PR, Ja, and DR first to get that island experience. But if you are interested in seeing beautiful black people who speak English. Belize could be a nice spot for you.
Texas or Cali to Belize.....that's a long azz drive.

Needs some details on that.

Yeah. In the late ‘80’s to early ‘09’s we lived in LA and SD. We would drive to Texas then cross the border there.

We lived in New Orleans from ‘95-00. New Orleans to Brownsville is 10 hours.

We moved to South Texas in ‘03. My pops was happy cause that saved us 20ish hours. Three hours to the border.
:russ:
Matamoros, to San Fernando, to Tampico, to Posa Rica, to Veracruz, to Coatza something long, Chectamul which is the Mexican side of the Belizean border.

Cartel land is from Matamoros to Tampico. Once we clear Tampico we are straight. Never fails we get lost around Posa Rica. It something about that area. Once we hit Veracruz, we are happy.

The ‘90’s sucked because the roads were horrible. Down south Mexico is tropical and the roads would be washed out during the summer as well.

Mexican people loved us. Never had issues. Every so often we had to buy them “drinks” but never paid more than $20 bucks at one checkpoint. Most we came out of pocket is less than $100. My pops be telling them no then argue with them. He don’t fool around with the federalis
:mjlol:
If we had room, we’d people people up along the way and use them as maps.

Damn, it's like that over there????
I slowly realized as a grown ass man, it’s like that everywhere to include the States. Politicians in the USA use their power and influence to get rich, under the guise of we are representing our constituents.
:troll:
In Belize, I can look a person in the eye and pay them off. That’s my favorite type of corruption.
:lolbron:
True story. To get your passport, you have to apply. It goes on a pile and sits for 9-12 months. You “talk” to your politician, it will be done in 2 days.
:wow:
You just have to find the right person. Luckily it’s so small, you will probably already know who it is and/or be related to the person.
:russ:
My cousin is big time in customs. He wrote the policy. If I don’t want to pay taxes or move something through the border. One phone call and I’m straight.
