It's pretty sad that they (the oppresors) erased our mother tongue, culture, names, heritage

what's even more sad is they continue to erase the lil bit of culture we have left.

Most of the slaves came from Western Africa.

depends what for and what region. Swahali (as is arabic) is spoken all throughout east africa. west africa is a bit more diverse. if you're looking to the future (and business), mandarin might be something to look into.

my sisters boyfriend is kenyan. he speaks swahili....no idea that language was so beautiful until i heard him speaking it on the phone to his mom back home. he taught me a little bit. JAMBO!

Swahili is spoken in East Africa, the only place in West Africa that speaks Swahili in West Africa is Congo.

And most of the slaves from Brazil came from Nigeria. Most of the slaves were Yoruba speakers.
