what are the best banks in your opinion, as far as securing loans and whatnot, i deal wih Chase on the day to day, and have another savings account with HSBC, no problems to note, but what about BOA makes them bad compared to others? drop the knowledge breh :why:

well banks are a no go when it comes to your best interest period. They are in the business to make money. As for credit unions you own a % of it when you put your money in it.They almost always give better home and car loan rates compared to banks and get approved for CC much easier. Don't get me wrong I still have a bank account for my direct deposits. But that is were it stops. BOA are crooks and got exposed during the overdraft lawsuit they had to pay up on.

that short sale is gonna effect their credit. if they don't need any credit for other stuff, then I believe they will be OK. but when you shortsale a crib for less than the amount owed, they can tax you on the difference as the IRS will see that difference as income. :sadcam:
It depends on if the bank is ok with the sale and they'll send you the form so you won't be taxed. We walked away from a underwater mortgage and the credit only took a 30 point hit. Since we complied with the bank and didn't destroy the property and all that, the bank didn't come after us for any of the balance on the money owed and it shows up on the credit as a cancelled debt and not a foreclosure.

take it from someone whose credit was messed up, let them old debts die, they will threaten you with fake law suits, with a 70% deduction etc., just rip up them letters, just wait the 7 years till its off your record

the thing is even paying a dime will reset it, at 18 i got my first cell phone and well my bill got to 500 and i never paid, years went buy, it got up to like 1,500 with interests and all, got threatened about law suits, kept calling my house etc., neer budged, when i was 25 ish was gone, credit is now over 700

DONT PAY A DIME!!!!!!

about to do the secured credit card thing....

u got any advice for when I save up for $200 to $250?

i already know one of the tricks you can do to get a very high credit score is not to always pay on the exact deadline....but pay weeks in advanced....

do you have other tricks?

Another way to boost credit scores is to find banks that do secured loans. You open an account and put $300 in, then you go to the bank and ask for a secured loan for $200. Then you take that $200 and go to the next bank and do the same thing. You take the money from the 2nd bank and pay off the first bank. Each time you pay one of you should receive a boost in your score. If you keep doing it eventually they'll give you unsecured loans and credit cards.
