They have some jams here and there.
However, their lead singer is a cornball, who feels people want to hear his opinion on everything, then turns around and if someone does the same will tell them that the world doesn't want to hear their opinion.
Then they wear costumes and come across as 90 percent gimmick 10 percent music

I used to fukk with Slipknot heavy when I first got into metal, then I got way more into it and I realized how "popish" Slipknot sounded 
Their older shyt is so much better though. I still havent even fully listened to their last album. Their live shows are fukking legit though. Saw them and Disturbed live way back in the day.
@Yoda is definitely right though Deftones>>>>>Korn and no way Korn is better than Slipknot. Korn has some dope joints but nah, my favorite one is still that Nas joint.

A lot of slipknot's stuff after the 2000s got more pop metal sounding, but their first album is basically death metal with a hip hop influence that somehow became commercially successful. I think it gets underrated by most metalheads cause that culture rejects the mainstream, but you can't deny that it's heavy.
That said, I definitely gotta say deftones is the best band out of this genre. Only reason why I made this thread about slipknot and not them is cause everyone already respects deftones.

I did at one time.
I own few of their albums because I collect cd's. I don't really like them. Not that heavy/hard to be metal for me, but not melodic enough/good enough singing compared to hard rock stuff I have on repeat. Iowa is boring to me, but that's considered their best album.
But a friend put me on to this song and I always loved watching lvi performances of it, they switch it up all the time.

Nice to see so man people like Psychosocial, that's one of my favorite slipknot tracks. same with Dead Memories.
