lol that beat is dope.. i didnt like the build up when it came on but it was when it dropped... dont know what type of song you can do behind turtle power lol

it did help but it mostly helped my confidence. At the time I already had some placements on TV shows but the showcase facilitated, if I remember correctly, me in getting my entertainment manager at the time. also, it was good to see what the talented producers in and around the city were doing.

thats ill, it's definitely a confidence builder especially when you placed top 3.... im gonna continue this shyt... im making too many connects now not to... i got cats hittin me up for beats all over the country now...

and all in all when people see you go this route, it adds a layer of legitimacy to your production..

i can now say my beats have been cosigned by so and so..

thats dope..i would love to get on tv.. producers at the show told me theres big money in that.. viacom comes to these showcases regularly..maybe u should go back in for the number one spot...

Yes I networked at the event. My stock has gone up a ton since then.

The whole scene is so damn corny though. I've seen it all- dudes putting 2 beats in one 60 second block, using other people's beats (this dude used a Pokemon beat off soundclick and won the round), and people playing straight up songs with lyrics. I'm straight on it all (I reluctantly agreed to do one next month) because music shouldn't be about competition!

i heard about people using others beats but why chance that, if you win your setting urself up for some serious embarassment..

I heard about the songs with lyrics, smh... Istandard told me they dont accept anything with lyrics on the verses

The guy who won did 4 shows before he finally won so he certainly earned it.

music isn't about competition i agree, but there can only be one grandprize winner so.

we did 2 first one got 2nd and the second was basically all those guys who didn't win reparticipating...didn't place that go round I think this is the first go round...

regardless it's good for exposure and feedback especially....

thats dope much respect on that 2nd place win.. it isn't as easy as people make it seem, it's presentation, crowd control, mix quality/mastering, drums, originality marketability and more they score on..

definitely is good for exposure lol other companies that do showcases heard about my set now i got 4 battle/showcase invites in the next few months.. I canceled the first one cuz imma be in Jamaica
