Any of yall ever do a producer battle/showcase

just curious, i don't see many producers taking this route...


I have a 5 minute set tomorrow at fluid night club in Philly.

are the judges


basically you out of 20 producers stand up there and go thru 5 beats then get judged american idol style.. the winner gets a grand prize..

yeah thats my plan start slow, and build up to the more uptempo joints...

i got 2 beats for the trapheads and 3 boombaps.

i'm no hypeman i chose this producing shyt to be behind doors... but I guess this is what i have to do to get my name out... especially in this Jersey Philly area theres a lot of competition

I used to when I lived in Columbus we'd go head 2 head and the crowd decides I never won tho always got played dudes would have the whole family and friends up in there. But even the dudes that got to the final round got scammed because the "winner" would have to go head 2 head with the promoter's producer, set up from the jump. But I used to walk out of there with damn near every M.C.'s cellphone number like even tho most of the dudes bullshytted when it was time to get something done.

Im happy with last night..with 10 days to prepare, I came out with 3rd place out of over 134 producers who were considered and was beat out by two top notch commercial/radio style producers... I was the last Jerzy dude left standing. and the last of the Boom Bap producers...

Jimmi Kendrix Platinum Producer for 2pac/Jay Z said my drums is knocking, that I should get 2chainz on my trap beats, and that my boom bap beats with the scratches is hip hop at it's best..

Cardiak; Producer for Rick Ross said I definitely got some heat and to get cats on the beats asap.. he said to keep reppin Jerz and doin what I do...and if emcees dont wanna listen come do a producer showcase and make em listen..thats how he got on

Dart Parker Shady Records AR: loved 4/5 tracks and sent me his personal email to send him some beats...he showed the most love.

my team wit me was able to sneak into VIP and party lol... my favorite local Emcee Channel Jamil was spitting in front of some hip hop heavyweights.. there was even cyphers going on in front of the club...

we got to pass out countless bizness cards and cds.

My team and I Tore the set down

well worth the time and investment but it does take alot to compete wit these dudes... it was mostly about networking..

im working on getting a video uploaded...

i was invited tonight as well so i may go network some more..

my shyt was goin nuts gettin hit up by Quest Love from the roots... Shady Records, Platinum Producer Jimmi Kendrix, Jersey's Finest Cardiak, philly's own Drawzilla, world famous DJ Jay ski.. and more

my city is going nuts over this shyt.. got 4 studio appts this week...

before this event... they wouldn't even give me the time of day..

i said to myself im tired of chasing artists to get em on my beats...
so imma make em listen..

if your a producer with decent material... this is definitely worth the experience..

i put all my chips in... im broke as a joke lol, but God Willing this investment will pay off...

it did help but it mostly helped my confidence. At the time I already had some placements on TV shows but the showcase facilitated, if I remember correctly, me in getting my entertainment manager at the time. also, it was good to see what the talented producers in and around the city were doing.
