She has some family in MOCO and I visited last Christmas. It seems okay, but idk how the cost is justified compared to NY it's almost the same.
If you are moving to DMV I suggest looking at places in Arlington VA, still very convenient. If you do check out Riverhouse apartments still have 1 bedrooms and they are pretty spacious for under 2200 and if you want houses they have them across the dmv FOR under 2600 a month.

How was the transition, quality of life, pay, entertainment and bang for your buck?

Tired of renting, looking for parking/moving cars. Ready to have a family and don't want to raise them here.

Top of my list is Atlanta. I went to school there so I know the deal. Charlotte is on my list as well as the DMV area and Houston. My girl is infatuated with DC, but it seems like the job market is strictly Government Jobs. She works in the media so her options a little more limited than me at the moment.

If yo' girl works in Media, she might be cool in the DMV. They got news outlets out da wazoo.

Charlotte is a nice wack place to raise a family.

I don't think it's because other cities are more poppin, it's because other cities are simply more affordable to live in:pachaha:

Nah.... It's because other cities seem more poppin than NY in the last 15yrs.

Back in the day everyone wanted to move to LA or NY. No matter how expensive, crowded and dirty. They wanted to be apart of what was poppin.
I never heard any young people from NY or LA want to move to Atlanta or Houston or something...
But here we are

I moved from Canarsie Brooklyn to a surbub outside of Tampa. I wouldn't suggest Florida as I remember OP saying he has a sweating problem (not trying to clown, I do to), the heat and humidity in this state is :scust:

Also if you move to any city south of DC, make sure you have a CAR. The public transit in most of these southern cities is trash. A North Carolina poster on here told me that jobs won't hire you in that state if you don't have a car.

I will say the apartments in Florida are nicer than the apartments in tenement buildings in NYC, my new apartment has central A/C so no need for window A/C units like in NY.

my cousin moved her and her daughter back to Canarsie (closer to the Wing Stop) but she wants to move to Texas but i heard its just as hot as Florida

One of coworkers who lives in Texas was saying he pays a TON on AC during spring and summer
