Nicki Minaj's lyric video for the awful Anaconda joint (she's still bad as fukk tho:killadamn:smile: but she's got a portion where he pays homage to one of my favorite shows of all time and seeing as how we are film fans and tv fans, I want to know if anyone else is a fan or am I alone in the cult of loving this cult show and the movie?

My GOAT show:blessed:Started watching back in '92 when I was 7, had no idea what the hell it was, kept watching over the years, now I own every episode on DVD...the greatest most original show in television history imo

Breh...you and I are just simpatico. I didn't catch it until the movie came out and it may have been 97 when it first started coming on cable. LOVED the movie..one of those movies I watched over and over and over and over, got me through my first break up (middle school love) and I became hooked. Started watching it on Sci Fi and never looked back. I don't own every DVD but I do have seasons 5-10 or 5-9 on my hard drive. God bless the torrent:wow:

Have you seen seasons K-3 (KTMA was the OG season 1, then Comedy Channel picked it up for season 1-3, then it turned into Comedy Central and the rest is history)

I've seen the opening of it and bits and pieces of the episodes. To be real, I never got into Joel and I know that's because Mike was my first introduction to the show so that's the vibe I'm used to. I gotta grow up some and get over that shyt and then start watching some Joel episodes because I know I'm missing out.

Yes you are MISSING OUT...the Joel episodes are imo better written and had more originality because Joel was the one that was head writer until he left and Mike Nelson came in...Joel liked having more creative themes and the intermissions during the movie when they go back to the ship is 100 times better when Joel was there....dude was a comedy genius...

But I won't take anything away from Mike because he did an AMAZING job of taking over when Joel left...Mike has the better quick tongue and quirkiness that the robots roasted on a daily...Joel was like the robots family while Mike was the new kid that the robots bullied...different styles, both genius.

The way I read it somewhere: Mike was the big brother, Joel was the dad. And I've read that Joel's episodes, at least until season 5 because in my MST3K book, The Amazing Colossal Episode Guide, it says that Mike was head writer at the beginning of season 5. So as always you write to the strength of your host and Mike wasn't a prop comic, Joel was so the shorts were about his experiments to showcase his props.

Yep and I own that book too. I wouldn't even call Mike the "Big Brother," he was more like the Little Brother to the bots...And the shorts/host segments did suffer when Joel left...hell, the Sci Fi episodes' host segments are mostly terrible with a few gems here and there, but the movie riffs during the Sci Fi era are easily the best...but the overall experience and writing of the whole show was best during Seasons 3 and 4...those were the golden years of MST3K

Trust me, you need to watch the first 4 seasons to get the fill...don't get me wrong, the bots are always amazing, but they were especially perfect during seasons 3 and 4...Season 4 is the Zenith of the show...

But to be honest, I equally love all seasons because they are all so different and diverse; just the greatest show with the greatest writing ever...this show will always age well, well into the year 3000 and 4000, people will talk about this show

Favorite Joel episode: TIE: Attack of the Eye Creatures, Gamera vs. Guiron, and Mitchell

Favorite Mike Episode, Comedy Central: Teenage Crime Wave

Favorite Mike episode, Sci Fi: TIE: Time Chasers, Werewolf,. and Horror at Party Beach

These are off the top of my head and if asked to choose again, I would pick other choices..the show was that perfect

Can't pick a favorite breh I've tried. I have a list off the top of my head: Red Zone Cuba, High School Big Shot, Santa Claus, Deadly Mantis, the Undead, the beginning of the end...yeah just too many. It's just too good

For Comedy Central Mike, its Teenage Crime Wave for me...the riffing was constant, spot on, and you could tell they were having fun that whole movie...I also love season 7 more than most MSTies...its considered the worst season by MSTies, but I think some of the strongest episodes like Laserblast and Night of the Blood Beast are there
