Any fluent speakers of a West African language?

I wish it was easy to learn and pick these languages up.
They are easy in theory which is why people in these countries speak like 3+ languages ontop of English, French or Spanish.
I think I heard something along the lines if your first language was a "tonal language" then its easy for you to learn other languages that are tonal because I guess they follow the same rules. English isn't a tonal language which is why it's harder for us to learn other languages.
It's something along those lines, heard this years ago.
