I was a big Drake fan from So Far Gone to NWTS. After 2013 I felt like he fell off and wasn't really a fan anymore. When I heard his newer stuff like 4pm in Calabasas, U With Me, and Lose You, I thought the old Drake was coming back and I started to get back on my fan shyt again
Fast forward to The Story of Adidon after that I can't be a fan of this dude. He was entertaining as a novelty rap/r&b artist when he first came out but now he's as big as he is, he's way too complacent.
Put all that shyt aside, that black face shyt confirmed the sentiment I always had inside that Drake is so painfully out of touch with being black in America, he's no better than a white culture vulture. His whole career is based off of acting out identities.
The ghostwriting shyt I was able to look over it since apparently it was only for a few songs. But with
- the blackface shyt
- how he uses the plight of black people only when it benefits him
- how he leeches off of his camp (PND, Majid Jordan, etc)
- how he leeches off of everyone else
- how mediocre his shyt has been since NWTS
- how he's trying to act like a victim now in the Pusha T situation when he bullied Meek with that overrated Back to Back record
-how he wants us to feel sorry for him nutting in a industry thot raw (that March 14th outro is one of the most disrespectful and cringeworthy things I've ever heard in music:Buddenwhatthefukk: )
-and how much this man used his own son to benefit his image among many other things, I can't give this man the benefit of the doubt anymore.
Edit: The fact that he still has the biggest audience in hip hop is really sad and what's worse is I don't think it will lessen anytime soon
