Supreme was in the game for a long time before it became super mainstream. In NY nikkas was on it for a long while, and in LA nikkas were on it in the late 00's when they opened up the store out here before Tyler helped it become mainstream in the early 10s. Off White is a fully fledged hypebeast brand that was founded in that environment. Supreme (and other skate/streetwear brands from the OG Fairfax era like Diamond Supply Co) started out as just a smallish skate company and grew from there over decades.

supreme was played in the late nineties and was raver gear in the late nineties denim boom.
it was never rocked by nikkaz in the hood ever.
it just had that I wanna attwch myself to hiphop aesthetic.
yet it was always in the same vein as jnco's.
when jnco lost their way.
after the merry go round era.
then started flaring out their bottoms for ravers.

box fresh, was better aesthetically back then.
to give an idea of where they were in regards to a similar brand at the time.

supreme was one of those companies.
that should have died when the lo wear Nautica, girbaud and tommy boom first resurged.
for toys trying to play dress up outside of the culture as popular.

somehow they lived through that and became this shyt where i never see the shyt in public. Plus never saw it be prevalent in a real culture based party or club scene as far as popularity.
supreme is some raver shyt.
it ain't really cultural past having photo ops for rappers.
which every mid to late nineties based company did.
