If we are going to report on and spend days talking about politicians and their shameful behavior, I'm much more inclined to talk about shameful behavior that impacts policy and standing around the world.

Last time I checked we are still bombing children, keeping innocent people imprisoned, and the list goes on. Sending a dikk pick on twitter is none of my business.

I don't disagree but it's clear that weiner is a clown. If he'll cheat on his wife by acting like a horny teenager then he'll cheat the people who vote for him.

I don't believe that to be true. Plenty of great leaders had sexual issues.

That being said, I don't fukk with him (pause). Not my type of politician. Not excusing his behavior either, I just find it sad that the media focuses on things like that instead of policies and government crimes/corruption.

I think what troubles me is less that he's doing that (although it's awful for his fam) and more that he staged this whole redemption narrative that turned out not to be true, and then is just nonchalantly riding with it no matter how much people call him out. He could have just dealt with the whole thing honestly. To me, that kind of response doesn't bode well for the way he'll treat other issues that come his way in office.

At this point the "family values" argument from ANYONE in politics IMHO is a shameful ploy. To many dudes been caught in these types of things for that claim to be taken with any credibility.

I see your point now. you're right, it is something only NYers should really be worrying about. Sex scandal sells, its disgusting, but it's part of the reason why this country is morally bankrupt and will soon pay the price for it.

Well, I definitely agree with you there. That information isn't really relevant to people on the other side of the country. That's just the news media being sensationalist and looking for gossip (though in general, the more scandals the public knows about the better, even if it's to keep people at least marginally suspicious of these politicians and reinforce what their actual investments are.)
