Anthony Richardson has one of the highest ceilings we've ever seen for a QB

I agree with you and @Street Knowledge but at the same time, if you want to develop a QB you KNOW didn't have enough starts in college you have to be patient. Benching him for the bullshyt about being tired is 100% justified, I got no issue with it. But at some point later this season they have to start him again. He barely played last season, hasn't played much this season. Going into year 3 with limited reps could really doom his career.

Granted I don't think he's gonna be good regardless but given the resources invested you gotta make sure he has everything in his grasps to succeed.

Oh for sure you have to see more of him at a certain point before you make your final decision on him

Just was talking about expecting him to be Allen one day is very ambitious

Yeah Allen is the ultimate outlier in terms of being horrible for a year or two then becoming a star. It’s not something you should expect

It’s like drafting a QB in the 6th round and saying he could be Tom Brady one day
The reason Allen is an outlier because he was trash at every level before the NFL.

Unless Flacco gets injured or there’s a blowout, then I highly doubt Richardson is coming back out there. He needs to be placed on a team who can develop him properly because it’s not gonna be in Indy. That organization has way bigger fish to fry right now.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Terrible comparison. AR at least has a pro body and arm and NFL teams will always draft guys with physical tools hoping they can reach their ceiling. Bronny only got attention based on his father because neither his game or physical tools were good enough to be drafted.

AR can still be a backup and there's probably a coach out there who thinks he can harness his talent. Look at how good Malik Willis looks under MLF.

The real issue is drafting a guy who is raw in the first round. He should have been 3rd rounder at the highest. Projects, especially at QB, need to sit for two years learning. He has poor footwork which is why he can't be accurate. That should have been the focal point of his development but when you throw a guy out there game 1 as a rookie you're setting him up for failure. He plays poorly and now the media, fans, and his own teammates have lost all patience. You're going to have to move on from him and you wasted that draft pick.

He's not an NFL QB. Bronny can play defense, and he's a young developmental player with a 40 inch vertical.

Richardson was the 4th pick in the draft at the most important position on offense. And he's trash.

Bronny is a 4 year college player without his father fast tracking him to the NBA. A vertical doesn't make you a good basketball player. There's better shorts in college who aren't undersized tweeners.

Now back to football, they knew he was raw, drafted him high, didn't sit him, and only gave him 10 starts. That's gross mismanagement. If you're not going to be patient then don't draft him. They felt like they had a good team that ready to win so take a more pro ready prospect. You bench him you're telling everyone you're done with him. If I'm the owner and you tell me you're benching the QB you sold me on pre draft then someone needs to be out of a job.

Agreed

His story is actually amazing when you think about it

I'm glad Allen put all the tools together

But that won't happen with most, taking raw players high at QB is usually disastrous because there really is no time to develop them with the pace today's game goes and people's expectations.

So dumb, Ballard needs to go after this year.

I would rather lose with AR and get a high draft pick than play for a 7th seed early exit with Flacco.
The crazy part is that I think the team would’ve been sitting right at 8-9/9-8, on the outside looking in (again), regardless of who they started.

It’s up to Irsay to look in the mirror and realize that shyt ain’t gonna magically change under Ballard, eight years into GM tenure.
