It's not an MLK movie, it's an adaptation of the play "All The Way" that Cranston won a Tony for. MLK is in it but LBJ is the main character. I have no idea where you're pulling this "MLK is going to worship LBJ" shyt from....in the play LBJ is far from a hero.

Clearly you are white so you don't get it, there is a term "we can do better" and Anthony Mackie isn't trying to better his position. Someone that has toiled as long as he had and been attached to the projects he's been in shouldn't still be accepting forgettable and thankless roles. In the play LBJ is basically an a$$hole. He's not some "hero" MLK would look up to. If you guys want to read into every role Mackey takes with no concern for context, knock yourself out though.

so they don't tinker with source material in showbiz now? They could turn this into a buddy comedy if they thought it would serve them in some way

I was listening to this week's episode of the Insanity Check podcast and they were saying they expect this to be a white-washed version of "Selma".
