People underestimate the impact of pressure. Doing it when nobody is really worried about you and doesn't see you coming vs doing it with Pac's best selling album is totally different. T Wolves coulda been a playin team last year or missed the playoffs altogether and nobody woulda batted an eye. Ant got the Mike comparisons and they went to the WCF last so of course expectations went up this year. And this is really the first time that he or this team has had that. Team definitely didn't help him by moving the perfect 4 man for him. Don't know what behind the scenes stuff went on there but you can see the difference even on 2K .

Ant is still playing with house money, he’s had no “failures” because he’s had no “expectations”. Heading into this season, nobody expected the Wolves to be a challenging for a title. Even if they lose in the WCF, it’ll still be considered a successful season.

We’ll see people’s real feelings about Ant when him carrying Minnesota to deep playoff runs every year becomes the expectation and not the cool surprise

I still ever remember about 5-7 years ago the first time a saw a AAU clip where teams just literally stopped playing defense so they could let each other try out dunks. This wasn’t an all star game it was just a regular game. But it’s like a game of telephone, newer generations slowly get more lax and it slowly creeps its way into the game at all levels, now the highest level. This is the thing...when every word or action is parsed and scrutinized. When everything you do is spun as a negative and the reason why you aren't winning until you actually win. And Minny has not proven to be the org that can help with that. And for all his talent, we don't know yet if Ant is truly built for that himself. It's crazy that he would actually be in a better boat rep wise if he put up some nice numbers and the Wolves were one and done. Knocking the champs out and having a comparable complexion to the GOAT (he does not look like that man ) is actually working against him now.
