I really like the fact that he's gonna be coached by Monty Williams. Great situation for him.

They should get Kendall Marshall with the 10th pick, too...or Lillard to get the scoring punch, actually.

They'll have a nice, bright future...good coaching, strong ownership now, Dell Demps is a smart GM.

Too early to tell, hell a Marcus Camby career would be an automatic win.

HS tape dont impress me. Show Dockery and Luther Head's hs footage. Show Eddy Curry.:childplease:

He's not banging with other big dudes in that footage. A couple games I saw of him, he played soft on offense.
Did yall nikkas just not watch any college basketball? He isn't a banger. He is a 3 or a stretch 4 in the NBA.

Kentucky didn't run ANY plays for Davis (and thats NOT because he has "no offensive" game). Yet he averaged 14/10 and 5 blocks.

Anthony Davis total FG for 2011-2012 = 337
Terrence Jones = 354
MKG = 326
D Lamb = 369
Teague = 352
D Miller = 302

For Comparison lets take Kansas
Thomas Robinson - 517 FG attempts
Releford - 239
Taylor - 474
Withey - 211

:russ: Davis is about to style on fakkits

I dont know why people saying he don't have a jumper, his shot is on point he just didn't have any plays ran for him at kentucky. He was putting up solid numbers straight off alleys and put backs.. I honestly think his career is gonna be better than kevin garnett.

Do you really want your franchise big man shooting just jumpers:scusthov:
Your Better than garnett comment:scusthov:
Thats why im saying he is gonna be a bust. The expectations for this kid is ridiculous. In the nba today the top pick better contribute right away. davis is at least two years away from playing. Hes a project. And fukk his growth spurt. All he did was catch up to other nikkas already in the league. As far as his quickness is concered there is many quick big men in the league so running and reaching over people wont help get boards. He gonna have to box out. How the hell is he gonna box out love and zbo and he cant box out snoop dogg:youngsabo:

:what:

It is so obvious that you're literally just hating right now. Do you just not like Kentucky basketball or something? (You clearly didn't watch any of their games or Anthony Davis).

You're telling me Norris Cole, Iman Shumpert, Josh Harrelson, Kawhi Leonard, Kemba, Brandon Knight can all get PT as a rookie but the #1 overall pick Anthony Davis wont?

You act like their allowed to just pick up davis and throw him across the court if he tries to box them out.

So your criticisms are:

He can't box out

and his quickness DOESNT MATTER because there are other "quick" bigs in the league? Does his shooting touch not matter either, does his insane defense and shot blocking ability not matter either? Does his athleticism, passing, intangibles, work ethic not matter either?

You're really grasping at straws bruh. Just stop it. Its disgusting.

You do realize it takes longer for big men to develop right? And davis isnt ready for that so comparing him to guards is pure stupidity on your part. And some of his shot blocking skill will be negated because he wont be n position to block shots. This isnt college, this is a grown ass mans league. Some skills just dont translate to the next level. And no I dont hate him, hes just not gonna dominate like you think. He could be a solid player on a contender, but he just wont be that franchise guy.

He is not your typical big man. Big men who take long to develop are POST only players. Davis has range, finesse and a large array of skills.

YOU SAID HE WAS GOING TO BE A "BUST" and that he wouldn't contribute until his 3rd yr in the L. His defense and rebounding alone will get him playing time

I don't know if he will or wont be a franchise player, because I'm not cleo the fukking psychic and neither are you. So stop being so certain about things because you really don't know shyt.

:comeon: at your whole fukkin post. You think coaches are going to allow him to shoot jumpers all day:rudy:
Even if he did,how the fukk is he gonna grab boards from the peremiter?
And he isnt ready to play down low yet, thats why he is a project.
And this is a sports forum so shut the fukk up with that dont talk sports shyt. Mone of us know for sure but thats what sports talk is about. Calling your shot before it happens. But I can tell your a bandwagon ass fan that cant form your own opinion and gets mad when someone else does

:shaq2:

you didn't watch him at all last year bruh. Dude comes from any location on the floor, grabs the board and then dunks it back in. It takes him like 4 strides to run full court.

and I follow KY Basketball passionately. I know Davis and his game through and through. He showed A LOT of talent and potential last yr. He improved SO MUCH from the beginning to the end.

I have a feeling that this thread will be looked up on severely in the near future, I think he'll have a great future in the NBA if he doesn't get injured, I see him as being a good 2nd option, wish the Cavs or Washington got that first pick though, would have been sick to see him being paired up with Wall or Kyrie

For those of you wondering this is the progression I saw in davis over last year

Beginning of the year he was a pure garbage man and he was weak. but defensively was a monster from beginning to end. At first He scored only from alley oops and putback dunks, would get pushed off the block and would lose rebounds because lack of strength and always rebounding with 2 hands and he was only shooting around 50% from the freethrow.

He got stronger and stronger rebounding wise and improved his freethrows. He started knocking down the occasional jump shot.

Towards the end of the SEC season he started showing a beautiful post up hook shot that he made quite consistently and also started driving the ball and getting and 1 layups.

I think it was our second game with florida where I also witnessed a postup, fade away money J.

The one thing I really saw in the tournament was his PASSING ability. He had a LASER pass to teague against Louisville for a layup.

The championship game was the first game I saw him really STRUGGLE to score. If you rewatch the game he started the game trying his usual post up hook shot that he would normally make but was just missing it.

He even said himself that he told his team that he couldn't find his shot that night and for them to score, he focused on rebounding, blocking shots and assisting. Yet he still got MVP by pulling 16 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 assists.

He does anything he needs for his team to win, his work ethic is out of this world and he NEVER STOPS playing. His motor is on par with Michael Kidd Gilchrist.
