Yeahhh and plus he regressed from his rookie season, I would’ve traded him and tried to see what I could do with AD for one season, better than being a treadmill 4/5 seed every year. Toronto just showed how a 1 year rental of superstar can workout.

Difference is even if Kawhi leaves Toronto, they'll still have Siakam to build around plus they got out of DeRozan's bad contract.

If the Celtics traded say...Tatum, Brown, Smart, two of their 1sts this year and the Memphis pick next year and AD walked...they would basically be starting from scratch.

The margin for error is not the same.

If Kyrie was re-signing, then absolutely go all-in for AD. But if not, shyt's just too risky.
