SO they are trying to force NO's hand. They could have done this same dance at next year's deadline. It makes no sense to do this while still under contract another year unless they are trying to force their way out now.

And after OKC just sold PG13 on their culture after having him for a year, I'm not going to bet against them when it comes to convincing AD to stay (if he goes there)
