Because this is a 1 man draft and we have the 1 man already; the talent drop off from #1 to 2, to 3 and then to the rest of the lottery is probably the highest of any draft in the 2010s and the players available at 4 would be available around 8-11+ in an actually good draft. Y'all already forgot that we won this lottery despite winning over 30 games; the days of being unabashed trash for year after year in the hopes of getting a pick that allows you to draft an actually good player are over. Being deliberately uncompetitive and trying to lose every possible game with the new lottery odds is for losers trying to build desolate cultures of perpetual losing like Phoenix.
Also NOLA's problem wasn't trying to win with young vets like Indiana and many teams have done with great success; it was throwing away first round pick after first round pick year after year to do so. We own all our picks now and going forward so that is no issue; Zion + the AD haul+ a couple good veteran players like Jrue to instill a sustainable winning culture + owning all our own picks= best foundation of any team not already competing for a title.
