Anthony turned into a diva the minute he joined Clutch.
I would've been fine with him asking to leave last summer or before the beginning of the season.

For one, they followed the fruitless tanking strategy that does nothing but develop a losing culture.
Secondly, they never surrounded him with any other talent until last season with Boogie, Rondo, and Mirotic. And they decided to get rid of all them despite him asking specifically to keep Demarcus (stabbed him in the back).
Finally, Tom Benson owns the Saints and the Pelicans, he doesn't give a fukk about the Pelicans. NOLA's medical staff aint shyt. And AD is constantly getting hurt... put two and two together.
I mean this article is from 2016 and is pretty prophetic of what would happen in the following years.

fukk the teams. This is a league where “fans” buy tickets only to hurl racist insults at the players. This is a PLAYERS league, where the PLAYERS are the ones with the talent. If a star player decided he wanna be to out then he can decide in what manner he wants to let that wish be known. Just like if the team decided they wanted to trade him to the Cavs or any other bumfukk terrible team against his will.

what does any of this have to do with AD's situation? there are times the FO/staff is on some fukked up shyt with a player, and then it's all fair...this wasn't the case, dude went and took a torch to them for no reason.
and racist fans...FOH, stop acting like that represents the majority of fans. most NBA fans simply enjoy and root for the star players who are on their team.
lastly, you're right, players have the freedom to jump around, but stop signing 4-5 year contracts if you want the freedom to leave next year...i mean, how hard is that? even if you want a mid-contract trade, plenty better ways to do it than AD and Klutch went about it.
