Dave Meltzer stated on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio the two sides had a deal but Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm wouldn't sign off.

"They made a deal last week. But I've got to say this," Meltzer stated. "They made a deal last week but when that happened I was pretty much told that they've come close before and it's fallen apart and you know the fact is even though it was agreed upon, Ed Nordholm had not signed off on it. And that happened, you know, it's happened before. So it's a very tenuous tense situation.

"They'll kind of mediate the thing, they'll come to an agreement and then Impact won't sign off on it," Meltzer continued. "It seems to happen. You know, I remember when I was told about the deal pretty much, you know, being close to done, there was the caveat of 'Well they may back out again 'cause they always seem to do that.'"

According to Meltzer, the deal was the Hardy Boyz would get the "Broken" gimmick with GFW receiving "some type of financial thing" and both sides would agree to say nothing bad about the other. It was noted that nobody wants the situation to end up in court.
Way to cover your bases Dave :pachaha:

I REALLY don't think Anthem wants WWE lawyers to do the "you're stealing my intellectual property" game...AT ALL.

Problem is WWE is not getting involved in this cause they know the precedence it will set in terms of talent keeping certain intellectual property aspets of themselves when they leave a promotion. Thats why they've stayed out

We gonna pretend that the WWE's failed soap opera writers getting their hands on the Broken Hardy gimmick won't be a complete disaster anyway?

I ain't gonna pretend :russ:. The WWE hates other people's ideas anyway, so the Broken stuff being on hold means nothing. The WWE is an expert in killing momentum, so they don't mind stalling something that the crowd reacts to

How much did J.J get for holding up Vince?

$300,000 for his one match.

WWE History: That One Time Jeff Jarrett Allegedly Held WWE Up for $300,000

Ransom Money: Did Jeff Jarrett Hold the WWE Hostage?

http://www.whatwrestling.com/why-vince-mcmahon-hates-jeff-jarrett/
Jeff Jarrett Blackmailed Vince McMahon for $300,000
When Jeff Jarrett’s contract was coming up to expire, he was still holding onto the WWF Intercontinental Title. This meant that Vince McMahon ran the risk of having another Alundra Blayze situation where the title belt would be taken over to WCW once Jarrett’s contract officially ran out.

Jeff Jarrett knew this, and used that knowledge to leverage Vince McMahon into handing over $300,000 dollars in exchange for Jeff dropping the title to Chyna (only woman to ever hold a ‘non womens’ belt).

This moment in time was only around 8 months after the WWF had turned the tide in the ratings war against WCW, so Vince definitely wanted to avoid any sort of backlash by showing any weakness. The last thing he wanted to do was allow Jeff Jarrett to keep the belt and risk him handing it over to the WCW creative team. This was also after the period of time where Vince Russo had moved over the be the General Manager of WCW.
