Why is it in the Pubg universe? doesn't make sense
PUBG signed them to come up with a single player narrative, aka money; wouldn't surprise me if Tencent will have most of their studios working on some PUBG / some spinoff.
My guess is the player 'won' PUBG and got sent to space prison

They'll probably have an ARG for this game; they mention starting space exploration in 2022, which'll probably cause em to build this prison space.
