Killing tourist is never a good look.

You're ruining a way of life for some people who depend on tourist dollars. I understand the people doing the crime aren't thinking about that, and just thinking about how to get their next meal.

I know a group of girls that got their door kicked down and robbed at gunpoint at a villa in Jamaica, and one of my aunt's nephew (cousin by marriage) got murdered in the DR.

In Cuba if something happens to a tourist, there's a high chance their going to get caught (snitches, spies) because the govt doesn't play that, and the people understand the value tourist bring.
Damn they got robbed in Jamaica? them and the DR goes out of their way to defend tourists. Colombia and Brazil are too big to protect Tourists outside of certain high tourist areas.

If you go to Colombia...stay off of Tinder. Do not go to her hotel.

If you're going to a hotel, make sure that they check IDs and don't let people enter the hotel undocumented.

Also...stop wearing expensive shyt and talking loud everywhere like an American.

Find yourself a nice normal woman to take trips with. Stop chasing whores.
All these are true but you can actually use tinder if you’re there to meet normal women instead of fukk prostitutes. I actually think tinder is the best way to make sure you’re safe because every time I traveled, I would meet a few girls on tinder for 2-3 months before I traveled. They will put you on game on what to do/not to do, restaurants, local scams, and most importantly, if you’re going there for sex, you can already have a lineup waiting and don’t have to pay anything.

A scammer is not going to keep up the scam for 2-3 months. By the second week she’ll be asking you for money claiming “my mom is sick” or they’ll send you a pick of an empty refrigerator they all use the same lines :mjlol:

I met this chick in DR, we had been talking for 3 months on tinder. Her family picked me up from the airport, we fukked first night, me and the girl fell out but the family always asks me when I’m returning. Everytime I went, they took me all over the island to private beaches etc. They just purchased a beach house. :wow:

I heard that locals are targeting foreigners in general because they increasing the prices of everything.
I’m in Colombia right now. When I was in the airport, I met a guy there from Colombia and he told me the same thing. It’s mostly just in Medellin because that’s where the white expats move to.

And just like true cac fashion, they don’t move to other countries and embrace the culture and people. They literally form all white expat communities and gentrify entire neighborhoods. Then walk around with that cac arrogance like they belong there.

Rent in Medellin in some places is comparable
To rents in the US. That’s insane when you think about the fact that this is Colombia we’re talking about :wow:

Tinder is the number one way to get scoped in Colombia.

Secondly you don't know how the game is played especially in the DR yes that bytch would have you and ten other dudes she's talking to for months building rapport then hitting you with the big ask when you touch down.

The fam texts you and one day you're gonna get the empty refrigerator picture or the kid in the hospital bed picture.

Maybe you met a "good Girl" but they picked you up and fed you so they they could control your access to badder and cheaper chicks.

Stay woke

Where are you in Colombia?

Even in Medellin there's not nearly enough expats to form communities. Frankly I wish we had an expat neighborhood but most people do want to be among the locals so no one lives in the same spot or are gentrifying neigborhoods like that.

The issue is inflation is up and so are Taxes that has nothing to do with expats.

That’s why I said tinder is best if you’re there to meet normal women. None of these bird brain Medellin chicas are going to talk to you for 3 months just to scope you. In fact, if you tell them immediately “I’ll be there 3 months from now” they won’t even respond most of the time. They live a fast life and are looking for a lick NOW.

DR woman are the least patient, like I said by week 2 they will be asking for money. Send you the same exact empty refrigerator pic that all of them use :mjlol:

The funny that is this is partially true. They took me to damn every beach in the DR EXCEPT Sosua :russ:

Then again, I met her in Santiago and that’s not a passport bro destination. You can’t even move around there even you don’t know Spanish

Right now I’m in a small pueblito in a rural area of Colombia. I was just in Santa Marta last week. And Cartagena before that.

Areas in Medellin like poblado or laureles have completely priced the locals out. They either expat communities or airbnbs catering towards foreigners. Some locals even kicked some foreigners out of a local cafe because from what I hear it used to be a favorite local spot and was it’s been taken over by foreign cacs

Believe me I know about the price gouging but it's Colombians doing it to foriegners. My Land lord upped the rent on me.

But gas and electric did go up again that's a Colombia wide thing.

Even those way more Colombians live in Problado than gringos I'll grant you it's gringoville and way expensive.

I remember I was in the backpacking district of El Problado and was charged 65K pesos for waffles and coffee. I got bigger waffles in the most upscale part of Cali for 18K pesos

Yeah in JA at gunpoint, I think they went in a group of at least 5. Thank God, all that was lost was money, passport and phones.

Yeah I can understand, I guess that's another reason why they say not to leave the tourist areas.

Facts. I tell them all the time, it’s not expats, it’s greedy Colombians. They literally have different prices just for “gringos” in a lot of areas. In santa marta, to take a quick little boat ride to a beach they wanted to charge me a separate price just because I’m an extranjero. I’m like were literally all in the same boat :why: Some of these places literally make up prices like that Dave chapelle skit after they found he had money :russ:

Last time I was here I got a tax ride from the Cartagena airport to my apartment 10 mins from the airport. The taxi driver said “$50.” I didn’t even bother to respond “I said let me go get my wallet”

I told my sister in law to go outside and pay him. My sister in law came outside (she’s Colombian) and said how much did you say it was? He looked at me and looked her :francis: and said “veinte mill” (for those who don’t know that’s $5 :mjlol:)
