Just saw this on IG and said to myself, “another day another AD injury “ come here and it’s the title
WHY DO THEY MAKE LOWS?
KOBE BECAME THE 1ST PLAYER
WITH A LOW TOP SHOE IN 2008...
nikkaS WERE ROLLING THEIR
ANKLES FOR DECADES BEFORE LOWS
BECAME A THING.
AD'S fukkING TIBIA WOULD
HAVE SNAPPED ON THAT PLAY
IF HE HAD ON HI TOPS.
THE LOWS ALLOWED IT
TO ROLL AND SNAP BACK.
This.Stop playing him at Center. He gets injured more and/or plays not to get injured (less aggressive). Play him at PF and get Tristan Thompson.
Low top shoes allow the ankle to roll in this exact type of event and allow the achilles and ankle to flex when cutting...high topshoes lock the ankle in and support but do not allow it to flex when cutting.I done heard it all on here smh

If AD was strapped in tight in hightops this injury is quite possibly a break not a sprain.
IDK, my experience with performance shoes is mainly running, and those are low because of the reasons I mentioned. More stability shoes have deeper drops but never high of course. Now, basketball and running are different of course. While not 90%, there was a major trend to go low top in the mid 2000s and it hasn't faded.Wouldn't an ankle.brace cause the same issue?
If what you guys are saying is true.. then 90%of the basketball sneakers made would be lows..
ESPECIALLY stephs sneakers..
If im AD im not taking the court without two ankle braces and some high tops on.
No way in fxck should it even be possible for his ankle to bend like that knowing his history. Idk why any big would hoop in low tops tbh.
High top shoes offer more ankle support. Idk how you can make an argument against that. Sports scientists have done studies on it.
KOBE LOW TOPS
PROBABLY SAVED HIM
FROM A BROKEN ANKLE...
IF HE HAD ON HIGHER SHOES
HE WOULD HAVE PULLED A GORDON HAYWARD.
