Why ya'll hating so bad?
Theater experience was dope
Film itself was a throwback to the classic horror cinema feel, I dug that
Yeah the story could have gone better but i'll be damned if it wasn't a good movie
Pun not intended, don't damn me
im looking to go when its completely empty..me and my friend..a bottle of henney and some pop corn..no other body in sight!
I was about to take my kids to watch it, they chickened out when we got to the theatre, they saw the poster and few trailers and said no, maybe next time..
Outside of the elevator scene and when the demon was holding the doll like
I couldn't take this seriously
at alfrie woodard giving her soul away for no damn reason was pointless and stupid as hell
that shyt aint have nothing to do with her, no one asked her to do that...then they didn't even rush
to her body after she just died like
I saw this last night with my parents and brother...fukking garbage.
Terrible acting. Especially in the beginning...I didn't buy them as the loving, 70's, suburban couple at all. No chemistry, and parts of this felt like some sort of suburban satire...like Pleasantville or something. Compared to The Conjuring....they didn't appropriate the time period well at all. And don't even bring up films actually made back then, like Amityville Horror or something like that.
Lots of giggles throughout the theater.
The ending was.... I saw this in a theater mostly full with black people and everyone was fukking quiet as we were walking out. Anyone who has seen it probably knows why. I could tell that most people were like at that bullshyt.
Story didn't even really make sense. They actually made the shyt more complicated than it had to be.
So was it the ghost of Annabelle? Was it the demon that they summoned? Was it both? Was Annabelle ever actually possessed or were we led to believe that the demon was simply moving the doll whenever he wanted something creepy? And if he could kick people in their chest and shyt...why even use the doll at all? I'm sure there are ways to explain this stuff but whatever....it should have just been a possessed doll story...didn't need the cult stuff at all.
My mom thought it was scary but anyone whose seen these types of movies before won't get much creeps out of it. Last film I saw in the theater was Mama and that shyt all over this. The Conjuring was also better.
Only good thing I took from this outing : The Jupiter Ascending trailer sold me on the movie. Maybe it's just an example of a trailer looking awesome on a giant screen with great sound but whatever, I'm seeing that. Wachowski Siblings have never let me down. Unlike many people I LOVED Speed Racer and Cloud Atlas.

I'm pretty sure nobody went into the theater (except maybe their girl, parents, younger siblings) to be scared by jumps
It was a throwback, as said in my previous post, and visually pleasing.
I can appreciate that kind of stuff
To each their own though
Only 2 complaints about the film though.
1. Story itself was kinda flat, some of the actions didn't feel motivated enough
2. Annabelle didn't run go full Chucky mode and start running around. I was semi-okay with her being controlled by a demon but damn, he coulda possessed it and ran around for the fukk of it
This movie was pure unadulterated garbage from start to finish.
And that ending....what the fukk?
The moral of this movie is that it is so great being white that black folks who barely know you will lay down their lives to make sure you can continue living your happy white life.
