I honestly think he should have kept the belt on Toni Storm. I know she'd have to drop eventually but Mariah wasn't the right challenger to have pulled it off. It probably should have been Willow or further down the calendar a heated up Jamie Hayter
I said it while back. Toni is/was too over for every one of the girls on the roster. No one could touch her. No one was getting her reactions, no one could hang on the mic, no one had a presence and no one could momentum with the crowd.
The only 2 who could have worked were Willow and Mercedes. But surprise surprise, they had to deal with each other.
That's why I said they need to get the TBS Title off Mone and put it on girls who can have shorter reigns and put in reps in front of the crowd without the main title spotlight. It makes sense for Julia Hart to get the TBS Title, makes sense for Willow to get the title from her. But then you get to Mercedes who's too big for the low belt, but can't just grab the main belt because there's no where to go after that. Julia, Sky Blue and Anna are names to get hold of that belt. Each one can take it as a stepping stone to get better, see what works, see what needs work and see what needs to be taken out. Meanwhile girls like Deeb, Saraya, Rosa, Taya, etc can play the veteran roles. (say what you will about Saraya) And they can be used to smooth the wrinkles. Maybe even throw Abandon out there for some Halloween hijinks. Then you throw in the girls from Mexico and Japan to fill in gaps. Just make sure you show footage and make sure the girls are worth it. Girls like Mina and..............
As for the main title Mercedes, Willow, Toni, Deonna, Hayter and Aminata (who's ready to break through) can be your heavy hitters. It shouldn't be as complicated as TK seems to make it.
And you still have bodies like Nyla, Penelope, Britt (lol), Grey, Velvet, Kamille and Ruby to put in spots.

May is far from ready to be the girl. The only props I can give her is facial reactions and her mic work. That’s it. Girl ain’t it In the ring and she has no character.
I don't really watch AEW like that but outside of Kenny Omega, Toni is the one of the few wrestlers that has the potential to be an attraction. It's better to limit her dates, and keep the belt on her while her booking is figured out than to drop it to Mariah.
Mariah is the best at doing the media rounds outside of Toni. For the story they had/have Toni had to drop the belt to Mariah, but it didn't need to be All In. Toni could've dropped the belt and regained the belt, and then Mariah could have the heel turn next year and build up her character.

They just had an opportunity to build her character and they failed. They just gave her a nickname and did nothing to push the actual character.
