I assume people who think anime characters look white either don't watch anime or don't know what Japanese people look like

biscuit oliva is actual a great character though. i do get your point. it's the same thing with barrett wallace.

however, i do not have a problem with japanese folk viewing black men as masculine.

both of these characters have great depth, high intellect, and run both of the respective organizations they're apart of.
Dutch from black lagoon is the same way

thats because despite how much drastic unrealistic feats and phenotype they put on the character. And no matter how much western people think they cant possibly be Asian/japanese. they are japanese to Japanese people.

To japan, they are all japanese characters, sailor moon, Goku, etc. and it makes sense. White people draw their characters any type of way from yellow skin, to rainbow hair etc and they seem them as white and we are guilty to by seeing them as white as well.

Its funny how white people get no smoke over this, they can draw themselves in anyway and no one has any problem with it. But nonwhites get barked at for even drawing their character with colored eyes. im no defender of anime, but i understand the jap's perspective on this

I totally get where they're coming from. They're an open nation, but at the same time, also very self secluded. So it's whatever for them. Even with the Hollywood Ghost in the Shell movie, they didn't feel any type of way about Scarlett Johansson playing a Japanese character. They said she looks like her. There's also plenty of them who admit that the majority of manga and anime characters look white, and that it's probably because they have a fetish for white people. But even with that, they don't have the same social stigmas and history that we here in the US, or other nations have, with skin and race and ethnicity.

personally we should leave the anime to the japs, and maybe do our own animated shows

A lot of jap media does take inspiration from the black community, so I can see one jap director maybe collabing with someone like Jordan Peele for a series :patrice:

Would be lit

i wouldn't consider peele a member of the black community lol.

anyway there are tons of black men out there that are into anime, for instance rza, samuel jackson etc...and they created afro samurai with a japanese guy.

also samurai champloo and numerous others.
