The NRA should have gotten far more backlash due to not defending Mark Hughes as well. He was the armed breh peacefully protesting in Dallas who was falsely accused, by the Dallas PD and later the entire mainstream media, of shooting those cops, but was shortly afterward shown to be innocent thanks to video evidence. The police took his AR-15, and did not return it for several months.

And for the following five months, Dallas police "repeatedly rebuffed" Hughes' request that they return his rifle and other belongings, the lawsuit says.
