It’s such a weird time with social media. Everything is so niche

Usually if you sell out arenas and the Garden back in the day you were HUGE to where most people were aware of you even if they weren’t fans ie Eddie Murphy Andrew Dice Clay etc

Now the social media popular comedians/entertainers who have a million or so followers are known by their fans but anyone who isn’t probably has no idea Schulz even exists yet he’s selling out the garden

IIRC, he’s Scottish/German not Jewish. He just has a Germanic Jewish sounding name. That being said, he’s been part of the Joe Rogan/Alt Right scene for years.

The audacity of him to suggest only minorities are getting opportunities over him is laughable. The overwhelming majority of stand up comics in the mainstream have been and continue to be white males.

And then they’ll say “well that’s because the country is majority white.” And then you ask them why that doesn’t reflect with the low numbers of women? “Well, they’re not as funny.” So is it proportional representation or is it a meritocracy as they claim?

The amount of CACs I’ve had to shut down with simple logic when they try and pull the “white men are oppressed” card is laughable. They have no rebuttal when you just use commonsense to show how full of crap they are.

The biggest international comics (going by ticket sales) are non-Anglo men: Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, Louis CK (Jewish/Mexican), Seinfeld (Jewish), Russell Peters (Canadian-Indian)… I’m sure missing some others but that just goes to show you, outside of the alt right enclave, those comedians have the biggest world wide audiences.

Take away the fraternal gate keeping, most of these average white comedians wouldn’t have a system holding them up.

Most of their schtick is:

“I can’t make fun of other groups otherwise I’ll be cancelled. Anything I say is punching down.”

*proceeds to so say the exact same things they claimed would get them cancelled for 90% of their set and still make a living.*

Crying about not being able to have free speech whilst exercising that exact same ‘right’ (pardon the pun).

That’s why I’ve gone off Dave. He has aligned himself with that whiny alt right crowd. Maybe he’s got off that train now, but that whole conservative angle he’s been on was probably who he truly was.

Spending most of your special going at one group was so hacky and beneath Dave, and I couldn’t care less about trehs.
