While shyt like this does happen like mentioned, with andre you gotta wonder how many of these instances there were during that era since we know what happened the next album with SB/Love below.

Exactly. There's hundreds of stories about artists hating their biggest hits and having to be convinced to do it. Meth with All I Need, Rae with Ice Cream, Red with Rocwilder off the top of my head.

Pimp C initially wanted nothing to do with “Big Pimpin”.

Bun B didn’t want to do “One Day” at first.

Big Boi wanted to open up Aquemini with “Y’all Scared” instead of “Return of the G” and was fighting mad about it.

But this ain’t negative tho, it’s just normal creative differences. Sometimes it takes somebody else to explain the vision to you so you can see it. shyt happens all the time in music that’s why having multiple ears you trust in the studio is important

This will only serve to make people hate Andre even more because they will see it as yet another middle finger to Big Boi instead of for what it is: he heard something different and the addition of Preston's playing inspired him.
The same thing happened with Scientists and Engineers Dre laid the verse but called Killer Mike and was like nawwww not really feeling Killer asked his manager did you send him the complete version with the vocals. He said Killer said send him that shyt. Within minutes Dre called back and said this the one let's go.

Was listening to Eye for a Eye and it dawned on me, its egregious 3k is held to a undeserved high standard when it really should be Prodigy. He has everything 3k has and more

Brian May from Queen didn’t like “we are the champions“ and Freddie Mercury had to convince him that the song would work

Is there a clip of them talking about this?
