This. It was a great coming-of-age story set in a rural town. The director did an excellent job in using objects as metaphors to tell the story of the main character(ROTC practice, the classroom of girls using babydolls as practice for motherhood, the skinning of the squirrel, etc.). And yes, it contained very strong acting performances. It was the film that sold me on Jennifer Lawrence acting ability, as I've always felt her performance in Silver Linings Playbook was overrated.

3) The English Patient - Seinfeld episode was better than the actual movie

K, then I think I'm talking about the wrong movie. Babe has a pig too, but I forgot how that story goes. I'm sure the stories are similar, but I still wouldn't watch either of them. They might not be full blown chick flicks, but I don't know anyone that isn't a kid, female or named The_Godling that actually hypes this movie and admits to watching it by themselves.

I mean it's a movie about a damm pig. Am I the only one that skipped that shyt in the 90's?

You must be cause Babe is a great movie. Even the sequel ain't all that bad.

It's more a family film than a "chick flick". I honestly think it's hilarious you classified it as that. Charlotte's Webb too lol.

I wnet expecting good action and good use of cg and 3d with a decent story and acting thrown in there..

Also for the people mentioning crash and other black movies, Everyday I see people complaining about the "white Washing" in Hollywood, but I come in here and see people saying the few times "black" movies got the award, they weren't deserved? so if it was up to yall, black people would have even less to hang their hat on as far as films go..
