Can anyone tell me why Florida State is hiking the ball with 12 seconds left on the clock? For a team that's struggling on office I would think they'll bring it down to at least 5 seconds.

They have no faith that this QB can get the ball off before play clock expires without a mishap and get delay of game, fumbled snap or worse. So for rhythm based purposes they are hiking it earlier
